Boxing Greats Visit Main Street Jazz Restaurant

 

Main Street Jazz Restaurant was the place to be on September 27 and 28, when it was visited by some of the Best Professional Boxers of All-Time. MSJR was graced with Bert Sugar, Leon Spinks, Mark Breland, Tony “The Tiger” Lopez, Reggie Johnson, Iran Barkley, Simon Brown and Ron Lyle. All the fighters were on hand for the 2007 Inaugural Boxing & Jazz Awards Gala hosted by MSJ Productions, which also honored Pernell “Sweet Pea” Whitaker. Boxing fans attending the event enjoyed a fun filled day which included a Press Conference, Autograph signing, Picture taking, Book Signing, Celebrity Workouts, Celebrity Cocktail Reception, Banquet of Champions Dinner and the Awards Ceremony. “It was an historical event for the area,” said Co-Owner, Sherwin Turner. Boxing Historian and writer, Mr. Bert Sugar, who has penned more than 80 books was the Master of Ceremonies for the event. The event will be hosted annually with September 20, 2008 scheduled for next year.
