Craig Taffaro (President of the Saint Bernard Parish) and Melissa Jurisich (the Director of the Sigur Center) purchase the first ticket for Friday’s “Brawlin in Da Parish” event from promoter Les Bonano.

“Brawlin in Da Parish” this Friday
It's a heavyweight explosion down South!

Leslie Bonano and The Fight Guys return to St. Bernard Parish at the Sigur Center in Chalmette, Louisiana this Friday with “Brawlin in Da Parish” featuring a heavyweight battle royale with the 6′ 5″ 270 pound-plus Bobby “Bo-Bo” O’Bannon (10-4, 10 KOs) going to war with the 6′ 7″ 265 pound-plus Raphael “The Cajun Connection” Pedro (20-9-1, 14 KOs) …

The hard-hitting O’Bannon always goes toe-to-toe with his opponent until one of them are knocked to the canvas for the count. Pedro is a former Cuban amateur standout who now fights out of Golden Meadow, LA and is trained by Olympic gold medalist and former world champion Kennedy McKinney. Both fighters have a large local following and it is anticipated that their showdown will have the fans on their feet for this epic clash of big men.

Another heavyweight matchup features the 6′ 8″ 240 pounds-plus Kelvin Price (11-0, 6 KOs) batting the 6′ 5″ 220-pounds Stacey “Big Foot” Frazier (14-7, 13 KOs). Price is a former professional basketball player who fought only one amateur fight before deciding to become a professional boxer. Frazier is a hard-hitting journeyman who depends on his knockout punch for a victory.

The undercard also features female heavyweight Sydney “Ginger the Ninja” Le Blanc plus middleweight Jamond “Doo Wop” Bourgeois (3-1, 1 KO) who are both from the nearby West Bank area and trained by the venerable “Coach” Toby Wattigney.

Also in action is highly regarded super middleweight Marcus McDaniel of New Orleans. McDaniel is trained by two hardcore veterans from “The Big Easy” – Ronald “The Cobra” Weaver who was a gatekeeper of the middleweight division during the mid-90′s and the living legend Percy Pugh, a veteran of 76 bouts.

Middleweight Travis Scott, Jr. (8-0, 2 KOs) is also scheduled to fight.

Doors open at 6:30p and the first bout is scheduled for 8p. Tickets range from $22 to $102 and are available at the online at www.SIGURCENTER.com or call 504-278-1875.

The Sigur Center is located at 8245 West Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette, LA.
