Fight Night for Climate Change is a Pay per View live boxing extravaganza organized by Green Planet Mobile and Trinity World Boxing Promotions, in an ongoing effort to use major entertainment events as a platform to facilitate local and national awareness of global climate change.

The boxing match will bring together two contenders who have signed an agreement to fight for the IBA Light Heavyweight title on November 17, 2007.

The Fight Night for Climate Change features: Glen Johnson v Reggie Johnson at the Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

The event is designed to tie into the presidential campaign and the worldwide movement for climate justice and to strategically move the American public and its elected state and federal officials into acknowledging the threat of global warming. This is the platform that will determine who is the most Green Presidential Candidate and essentially get the Green Vote title.

For many reasons, Fight Night for Climate Change is necessary to elevate the conversation to a global level by encouraging existing environmental movements, corporations, and local agencies to partner with us to fight for climate justice by extending our reach into all platforms and ignite a long term sustainable movement against global climate change.

Fight Night for Climate Change will bring the Presidential Candidates into the boxing ring to symbolically duke it out on the issue of Global Warming. The presidential candidates are invited to put on boxing gloves between rounds and present their position and take immediate and deliberate action to reverse its catastrophic impact of carbon emissions and climate pollution on local, national and global communities. The presidential candidates are invited to take part in forums and activities scheduled during the day at the Burton Coliseum prior to the main event.

The pre-fight activities will advocate climate consciousness, corrective, and collective action against global climate change. Various educational and informational activities are scheduled along with live entertainment and presidential candidates will have a platform to state their position on global warming.

The pre-fight build up will also feature interviews with presidential candidates, major environmental organizations, corporate sponsors, and celebrities that are currently fighting the good fight for climate justice. Advertisers and sponsors will have their commercials shown during the breaks and flashed on screen when the presidential candidates make their speeches in between rounds.

The pre-fight build up and overall buzz surrounding Fight Night for Climate Change will have noticeable impact felt around the globe, and be an unequaled success in the boxing world and highlight of the presidential campaign.

Fight Night for Climate Change will impact all communities by promoting environmental health awareness and education, to encourage lifestyle and behavior change.

The organizers plan to introduce and deploy modern technologies to support traditional movement-building, including web-based social networking tools. This event will provide resources to engage people across America, resulting in fully connected communities sharing solutions, breaking down barriers and creating fast acting national networks. The forum will serve to educate citizens about the realities of climate change and ways to motivate under-served populations to get involved in the green movement.

As part of this effort, we will tap into the partnering organizations ability to deliver core training and action-based education on the subject of global warming. Participating partners and communities will be engaged to ensure solutions are envisioned and implemented. We will leverage the awareness already raised concerning global warming, and turn that awareness into action — by providing communities with the tools and know how to GO GREEN and work together to make a difference.
