Kermit Cintron decided to take the decision out of the hands of the Florida judges, and knocked out Mark Suarez
in the fifth round. Probably a very smart move.***
This week there are three important fights to pick from. First In Phoenix on Saturday, Sergey Liakhovich takes on
Shannon Briggs. Briggs can hit, but I still question his chin. He has been protected in his comeback and I’m
not convinced he’s for real. We’ll find out here, Liakhovich by knockout. |

Only one fight I feel worth commenting on this weekend, and that will be held in Florida, where bad
decisions have become the norm. Not that some other States don’t have the same problem, it’s just that
Florida fights, seem to be televised more often than most.
Kermit Cintron and somewhat unheralded Mark Suarez will face off for the IBF title, and both guys can punch,
so this bout could be taken out of the hands of the judges. |

I had the pleasure to attend the World Boxing Hall of Fame at the LAX Marriott this past weekend. Besides
the greats being inducted, many other old friends attended, including, to name a few, Yaqui Lopez, Greg
Haugen and Mr. C., who disguised as Howard Cosell did an outstanding job of co-hosting the event with Danny Valvidia. |

Punishes Hometown Rival During TKO Blowout Win
The press conference was ugly; with punches almost being thrown a day before either guy even entered the ring.
The pre-fight trash talking was downright mutually disrespectful. |

This weekend...World Boxing Hall of Fame induction, LAX Marriott...Call 909-239-3541...Inductees includes
Roberto Duran, Matthew Saad Muhammad, Julian Jackson, Eddie Perkins and many more. Fans would not want to
miss this tribute to some truly great boxing people. This event figures to bring out a packed house, so
make your reservations early. |

Most people I know are calling the fight between Edison Miranda and Arthur Abraham, in Germany, the
‘fight of the year’. Wish I had seen it, but sadly, all I can report is the old news, that Abraham won
a unanimous decision, although fighting with a broken jaw early on, and bleeding throughout much of the
fight. A lot of points were deducted from Miranda during this brawl, and that may have proved to be the difference. |

Dramatically impressive win over Campos amazes MSG crowd
The 3,852 fight fans that crammed their way into the Theater at Madison Square Garden Friday night
were treated to a classic, throw-back of a twelve round non-stop action middleweight brawl between former
world champion Luis Ramon "Yory Boy" Campos and the increasingly popular Irish John Duddy. |
