Fuselier: Boxer of the Year!
Brent Milam, Man of the Year!

2009 was a sensational year for heavyweight boxer, Wilfred "Wil the Thrill"Fuselier, Jr., and he was rewarded at the sold out Ragin' Cajun Amateur Boxing Club's annual awards banquet with the Boxer of the Year trophy. The standing room crowd at Alesi's Italian Restaurant gave Fuselier, who won the Louisiana Golden Gloves, USA Boxing Southern Association Tournament and the Louisiana Governors Games in 2009 a huge ovation. "Our club had a great year in 2009 and I am surprised and honored to win this trophy. All the hard work and sacrifice over the years paid off and I hope to bring home a national championship for our club", said a smiling Fuselier.

Lafayette businessman, Brent Milam was honored by the club as the 2009 Man of the Year, for his continuing support of the boxing club. "What an honor to win this award and I am also honored to be associated with a boxing club that not only keeps our kids in great physical condition, but also requires academic success to participate" were the words of Milam.

The prestigious Hall of Fame had three new inductees and they were all very surprised. The new Hall of Fame inductees are: Charlie Richard, former Golden Gloves Champion, Dr. Michael Cavanaugh, former Golden Gloves Champion and Dr. Michel Heard, Ringside Physician.

The evening started with a magnificent slide show honoring the life and times of the recently departed, Beldon E. Fox, Jr. Beldon was a former two-time Louisiana High School Boxing Champion and a hugely successful oil and gas businessman. A true friend and benefactor to the club, Beldon will be missed by all who knew him. He supported the club not only financially, but also intellectually and spiritually. Beldon E. Fox, Jr. is, GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN!!!
